Frequently asked questions.
Where are you located?
I offer both telehealth and in person sessions out of a clinic in Caringbah, South Sydney. You will be provided with the address once you make a booking.
Do you offer medicare rebates/NDIS?
Unfortunately I am not registered with medicare or NDIS at this time. I am working towards this. Fortunately, this means I do not have a wait list and can start working with you immediately. You do not have to go to the GP and get a mental health plan, you can book straight away.
What days can I book in?
I offer sessions on Saturday mornings.
I’ve never seen a counsellor before. What should I expect?
This is completely fine. Counselling is really a space guided by you and your needs. Your first session will include introductions and information about confidentiality and how I record notes about our sessions. We will spend time getting to know each other and building a professional relationship. You can tell me about what led you to booking an appointment and what you have been struggling with, and together we can set some goals for what you would like to get out of counselling.
You can book ongoing sessions for as long as you feel the need.
Why do you only see parents of children aged 0-3?
The 0-3 year age period in children is a special interest of mine, as this is where parents can have the biggest impact on their child’s future mental health. The infant brain is especially plastic at this age and it is a unique opportunity to build strong connections in their brain with secure attachment, and their felt experiences of safety and security. The research shows us that building these connections during infancy grows a baby’s brain to be resilient against stress and protective against future mental health problems.
That being said, if you are struggling with parenting a child outside of this age bracket, still get in touch and if I have availability I will let you know.
