About me
My name is Olivia, and I live on Bidjigal land in south Sydney, Australia. My wife and I are raising a gorgeous little girl.
I came to this work because of my own parenting experiences. Like many others, the transition to new parenting felt simultaneously like sinking into a warm bath of love, and jumping straight off a cliff. I wanted to find a way to use my social work therapeutic skills, and my experiences of being a parent, to help others along this journey.
In a world where anyone can call themselves a ‘baby sleep’ or ‘wellbeing’ specialist on Instagram, I want you to know that I do have the qualifications to back myself! I have a Bachelor of Science (Psychology) and a Masters of Social Work. I have been working in the social work field for almost 10 years. In my work I mostly draw on attachment theory, strengths based approaches and trauma informed practice, and I have a special interest in using acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and family systems theories when working with new parents. My practice is inclusive - I am here for all kinds of parents and families.
I am also an accredited Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC/Possums) practitioner. This means I have completed NDC Masterclasses in Clinical Breastfeeding Support, Infant Cry-fuss Problems, Sleep and Infant Mental Health, and am certified to provide the Sleep, Baby and You program.
